Animal presenters (part time seasonal – March – end October)

You will have a background in working with animals or will currently be studying at college towards an animal related qualification.

Your role will be to represent our farm and present our animals to visitors.  This will include taking charge of the animal activities on the day, taking birthday parties around the farm and possibly school groups from time to time. You will be well presented, confident in speaking to customers about animals and show a passion for animals. Full training and uniform with be given for this role.

Cafe, kiosk and gift shop roles (part time seasonal – March – end October)

You will be well presented and keen to work as a team. These roles vary in terms of the experience of the candidate but a willingness to learn and a want to make our customers days a positive one is a must. You may be clearing tables, making food, greeting people at the kiosk or taking admissions but all roles require enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to learn new skills. Full training and uniform will be given for this role.

Farm Apprentice Position. Start Date: February 2018. 18 months duration.

This is a busy apprenticeship position which will involve looking after a range of animals on a farm, which is open to the public.

The position requires someone who has some experience working in an animal care/farm working environment. The position will involve carrying out a wide variety of day to day activities on the farm, candidates should already hold an animal care qualification.

You will be required to work with a wide range of animals, from reindeer to raccoons. This is an outside job therefore recommended for someone who is prepared to work outside in all weathers.

Duties will include:

  • Preparing animal accommodation
  • Preparing feeds for animals
  • Monitoring the health and welfare of animals
  • Administering medications
  • Following health and safety procedures
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
